The 295-foot barque Eagle is the flagship of the U.S. Coast Guard. She serves as a training vessel for cadets at the Coast Guard Academy and candidates from the Officer Candidate School. The Eagle is the only active-duty sailing vessel in America's military, and one of only two commissioned sailing vessels, along with the USS Constitution. This drawing by Diane Liptak for a mural on our Coast Guard Building. This Mural will be drawn and painted by local artists Diane Liptak and Steve Krou.
Check out this plaque on our Coast Guard Building. Our Hernando Beach Coast Guard building was in need of grounds maintenance. UCHB reached out to the community and our local Lawn company, Hernando Beach Lawn Maintenance owned by Lisa Hypes, stepped forward and took care of it. They have pledged to maintain the ground for the entire year at no cost to the Marine Group. Kudos to them for caring about their community.
